Loipa Araujo -BWLoipa Araujo is the Associate Artistic Director of English National Ballet.

She was born in Havana,Cuba.

She was trained in Cuba at the Sociedad Pro-Arte Musical with Alberto Alonso and Leon Fokine. Alicia Alonso Ballet School with Alicia and Fernando Alonso, Raymond Franchetti, José Parés and Asaf Messerer

Loipa was known as one of the ‘Four Jewels of Cuban Ballet’, highly respected and sought after across the world for her unique style and teaching skills. Principal Teacher, Ballet Nacional de Cuba. Principal Guest Teacher, Teatro dell’Opera, Rome, Teatro alla Scala, Operá Nacional de Bordeaux, Maggio Fiorentino, Florence, Teatro di San Carlos, Naples, Paris Opéra Ballet, The Royal Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet and Béjart Ballet. Won the Gold Medal in Varna in 1965 and a Silver in Moscow in 1969. Gold star, Champs Elysées Ballet Festival in 1970. Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, France. Orden Félix Varela, Cuba
