Charles Mudry was born in Switzerland, and trained at the State Institute for Theatrical Art (GITIS) in Moscow (Teacher’s Course), following earlier studies with Maria Fay and Eileen Ward in London, and with Serge Golovine and Beatriz Consuelo in Geneva. He studied piano with Denise Bidal at the Collège de l’Abbaye Royale, Saint Maurice.

Between 1994-2001, Charles worked as a guest teacher with many companies internationally including:

Nederlands Dans Theater

Before that, he danced and taught with the Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm, was a teacher at the Royal Swedish Ballet School, and at the Hamburger Ballett and Hamburgische Ballettschule. He has also coached at international competitions including Varna, Tokyo, Helsinki, Eurovision and Paris.

This is a Resume written by Craig Dodd of the Dancing Times

It  was  on the ice at home , in the beautiful Swiss ski resort of Crans Montana that Charles Mudry first discovered  dance. Later, at  the age of 17, he received his first ballet lessons from Serge Golovine and Beatriz Consuelo in Geneva and then continued  in London with Maria Fay. He made his début at the Tivoli’s Pantomime Theatre in Copenhagen where he had the opportunity to work with Niels Bjorn Larsen  and Hans Brenaa. Mona Vangsaae , Sir Frederick Ashton’s first Juliet, created a one-act  ballet  Romeo and Juliet for him at the New Theatre also in Copenhagen. A year later  he joined the Royal Swedish Ballet, at that time directed by Erik Bruhn. Charles remained with the company for many years leaving only twice, the first time to study at the G.I.T.I.S. Choreographic Institute in Moscow  1975-77, and  then  to teach in Hamburg for John Neumeier from1985 to 1990. While dancing at the Royal Theatre in Stockholm he started to teach at the Royal Swedish Ballet School. Several of his students made international careers including Anders Hellström, Tim Almaas, Hans Nilson, Göran Svalberg, Johan Inger, Anders Nordstöm and  Jan-Erik Wikström.  Since 1994 Charles has been regularly invited as a guest teacher by choreographers including Jiri Kylian at the Nederlands Dans Theatre and Mats Ek at ihe Cullberg Ballet. He has also worked with  the Norwegian National Ballet, the Royal New Zealand Ballet, the Finnish National Ballet, le Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève, the English National Ballet, the Royal Danish Ballet, Compania  Nacional de Dansa in Madrid and  the Royal Ballet of Flanders.When not teaching, he returns to the snow and ice of the Alps where it all began.
